Just got a bargan. Purchased a 3 point 60 inch snow thrower from a neighbor to mount on my 8n. I realize that my reverse speed may be to fast so I would like to know if any of you could give me a price of what i should ask for it if I need to sell it? It looks as if it has been used very little. thank for any help Ed

If you are talking about a V - type snow thrower there are two main types.
The " ARPS" style that works only mounted so the thrower works when backing up.
The "Erskine / Allied" style that has a frame that can either be mounted to be used backing the tractor up or tuned around so you pull it behind the tractor and throw snow while the tractor is going forward. This style works OK on a N tractor as you can lift the thrower out of the snow at the end of a pass before putting in the clutch. I hope this is of help to you.

you specifically said snow thrower, rather than snowblower, yours is an open frame with a large 4 blade paddle that throws the snow to one side only, your tractor would handle it fine, they take far less power than a two stage snowblower. I had a snowthrower on a B Allis once many years ago. They do not bring much money around here, if you see one at an auction it is usually in the scrap metal pile.

Keep the snow blower and sell the 8N for about 1500. Get a tractor with a live PTO or slow gear like a SOS.

I second Ken's suggestion. The snow blower is the better machine.
