I received an email from what appears to be ebay. The email states that my listing is confirmed and shows a listing fee very high. I did not list this item. I think the lister wants me to go to that link and sign in but I did not. This is probably a scam and thought others should be advised. Be careful.

Consider the fact that YOUR eBay account may have just been hi-jacked, and it is YOUR account that will be billed for that listing. YOU need to contact eBay immediately.

His account probably HAS NOT been hijacked but it'd be real easy for him to log into his account and see. If theres an extra listing there then yeah, contact eBay. Otherwise its just a phisher.

Hey Rusty, I did not respond to the email so I should be ok. I did forward it to ebay. This scam just seemed to be a little different than some of the others so I wanted everyone to be aware of it. I did check my ebay account and it is ok. Ebay did respond and said it was a spoof.

Like the others, very common. Any thing from E-bay will have you E-bay name on it. Bet that one does not. Go to "my E-bay" and read your messages there.

In fact thats a phishing scam. They want you to go to a site that looks like eBay and put in your username and password. When you do you've been harvested and they'll take over your account.

This is VERY VERY common but people get caught every day. I even got caught once a couple years ago. Watch yourself. Use a strong password, one that includes letters(both upper and lowercase) and numbers and change it a couple times a year. And NEVER go to eBay from a link. Always log in on your own.

I get 'em from banks too, banks I don't even have an account with...

Yes definitely a phishing scam. It"s very common these days unfortuneately. They try to scare or trick people into putting their username and password into their phone site. I get ebay versions, paypal versions and a bunch of bank versions as mentioned. You have to learn to recognize and delete them. Legit institutions will never send you emails asking you to do something like that. Always go to websites via your known correct favorite links or type the website directly to assure you are going to the REAL website.
