Hey I like the sled storage too! How do you have the clearance for the mast of the lift though?

Carry on, your doing great. That is the way to go and you will have something that will carry a decent load. Wish those beams were mine.

Looks fine to me! The only thing you might want to watch is that when you install the floor, make sure there's enough clearance over the wheels. That looks to me like it might catch.... If it does hook on you, install some blocking under the I-Beams to raise the whole thing up some. IT'll work fine.
Other than that, steel is lighter, stronger better in my opinion. I'll never have another wooden wagon rack. BT/DT. They're all steel now, and they're a heck of a lot stornger than the comparable wooden versions around here, and about half the wieght. I've towed both. Believe me.
I don't plan on rebuilding mine every 10 years either....

Rack 3 looks like wagon bed won't clear the wheels!

Looks like your shop has the same interior decorator that did mine ;)

When all is said and done, those I-beams probably aren't all that much heavier than wood of equal strenght. Looks real good to me!

$3.00 a bale X 2500 bales = $7500 - $1500 cost= $6000. And not having to unload a bale Priceless.

Cheap steel why not. We used cheap pipe from wrecked pivot sprinklers for same thing.

Did you ever think of replacing that wide fat inplement tire/rim with a 22.5 x 11 or 12.00. I have and wouldn't have it any other way. There's a lot of good used bus and semi tires around. On a 15 ton trailer I haul 425 bu. wheat (25000 and change) with no running gear worries. High and tall rolls easier than short and fat. (i'm sure somebody will leap on that statement).

Kinda depends on if you are rolling down a paved road, or pulling through a soft wet field. Sometimes you are right; sometimes I'd rather have the implement floatation tires.....

I agree with rod as well. Think about this, if you're in a SOFT field, I would definitely want the fat short tires. I certainly would not want my wagon sinking because i put some truck tires on it.

There's points to what you're saying.... but the other thing you must consider with hay wagons, and it's really more important, is the height. An 11R22.5 is going to be a solid foot taller than the standard 11L15 impliment tire. That puts the floor up higher, and the center of gravity higher, neither of which are terribly desirable. I'm not argueing your reason for using truck tires; just that they don't fit so well in this application.
