Are McCormick tractors made in 30-40 HP range? Is this a US made tractor or just in name. I saw a large one(maybe 100 HP) the other day and was surprised they made tractors.

When I talked to a sales rep at the National Farm Machinery Show, he said the model I was looking at was in the same family as our CaseIH 385, just a couple of sizes larger. It really did look like our 385, which I have been told was designed by IH before they were bought by Tenneco.

That would put it in the 65-85 HP range I think.

Nearly all the Case IH and McCormick tractors were designed by the old IH company. With the exception of the Perkins engine and sheet metal they are basicly the same as the old IH tractors. They had to go with the Perkins on account of the IH engines wouldn't pass the new emission standards. The transmission and rear end lift and so on is genuine IH. There are no more Case tractors.

A friend bought a 100 hp+ McMormick to replace a tractor that was burned up in a fire. Couldn't find a spray tank mount braker for the front frame. Had to make his own.

Is there a loader made for these yet?

 Re: McCormick Tractors COMPACTS in reply to MD12Chris, 05-03-2007 12:46:58
Hi Gang;
The current ranges of compact (sub 45HP) tractors are NOT MADE BY McCORMICK NOR IN DONCASTER ENGLAND.
They are ALL BUILT in Italy.
The G25 & G30 equel wheel models are made by Gulliver in Italy and are due for replacement soon.
The GM & GX are made by Landini and are small "fruit-orchard" style compacts; available in geardrive & hydrostatic. Note the GM range are identical to some compacts marketed by New Holland. GM & GX also badged as Landini in some markets.
A new range has just been launched which will be badged McCormick & New Holland in red & blue colours respectively. Cheers David

They do make small tractors. I dought any are made here. There is a Case IH dealor not far from here that has Case IH and McCormicks on the lot and other than a different shade of color they look just alike.

I believe they make a 37 to 52 HP range "ground care" series of tractors.

They are made in Doncaster, England which was the town IHC had a plant. Don't know if McCormick or whoever their parent company is uses the same IHC facility.

They are smart-looking tractor and make some big beasts (big to me)they do.

Yup, they make small stuff. Our dealer has stuff down in the 15HP range up to 100+ HP. I think they are U.S. made, but dont hold me to it.
