ROCKER ARM HITTING VALVE COVER

Just had a head gasket put on and had the head shaved and now I have a Rocker arm hitting the valve cover. What to do?

Like he said before the push rod isn't seated right, and as far as shaving the head you can do that,thats why theirs adjustable tappets on the rocker arm.

My guess - if it's only one hitting, you don't have the pushrod seated in the lifter - it's up on the edege of the lifter causing the rocker arm to raise up higher on each rotation of the cam.

Probably wrong - usually am.

Yes ,some, maybe 1/16 of an inch. I only have one hitting.

Shaved to increase the compression? How much? If you do that your valve gear geometry is all messed up - push rods not at right angle, rockers bearing at wrong angle etc.

You need to fit appropriate spacers below the rocker arm pedestals to return the angles to design.
