I just plowed up a couple of "new" acres this spring and have started a decent little garden. Problem is it"s kinda out of the way, no homes or people around. What do you guys do to keep the deer, turkey, and any other varmits out? Don"t know if the turkeys will cause much damage, I know the deer will. Plan on shootin" a couple of crows and hangin" them up. Any other ideas?? Thanks.

People too lazy to poach? You're in a whole different part of KY than I am, then!

The best approach I have found is too just plant more than you need...and shoot the deer every chance you get. Consider the lowly possum.....he's a fine critter with a definite purpose...folks need to feed them more often...they love dead deer and never bother your garden. Coyotes and foxes won't bother much in the garden..some claim they'll steal a tomato or two...but as long as they have deer to eat...they won't look twice at your garden. Feed the animals what they like the best....you eat the veggies.

Sorry to disagree with a couple of you guys, but unless that electric fence you're suggesting is 8 feet high, it's not gonna stop many deer !

Just build a 6 ft fence 4 ft out from the back fence, will stop most any deer, they can't figure out how to jump both of them.

Electric fence, two or 3 wires, solar powered fence charger. T posts & wire panels.
