Pulley question

I need a belt pulley for my Hesston 310, I've had good luck getting parts from the dealer but I wondered if someplace online has them or can NAPA match them up like bearings? The pulley is stamped Don Dye and Kingman Kansas with a part No. It's about 4.5" and is the kind where the bearing is held in by the two sides being riveted together. I just want to do some comparison shopping. Thanks.

You could always give Grainger or McMaster-Carr a try. The Grainger folks are really good to deal with over the phone.

Save yourself some "bucks".

Drill out the spot welds holding the pulley halves together, replace the bearing, then bolt the idler pulley back together. About $5 to $8, vs. $50.00!

The sheaves are kind of rough because of rust and it had rivets not spot welds. If its not too much, I'll replace it. It's only a 4 3/8" pulley, it can't be that much.

You'd be surprised how much a pulley like that can be at the dealer's!

Post back, and let us know!

Also, a farm supply store that stocks an aftermarket brand like G&G or Hub City MAY have something that will work.
