I recently found John Deere Styled GM Serial Number 13002 and 13003 they started at 13000 and 13000 was scrapped and 13001 was exported. These are the oldest styled Gs known to exist. They are the real deal, I seen them in person, but they are rough, he wants $24,000 for the pair, seems steep to me, but what do you think?

Keep your eye on the prize. Buy fix up and sell just like a house. Low numbers at this time are a prize. Feed back if you buy?

There seems to be no accounting for the money that green guys will spend on their toys. Take for example the #1 330 that sold recently.

ehh, look at it this way. The owner KNOWS what he's got and he's not going to bring the price down. I KNOW YOU WOULDN'T IF YOU WERE SELLING THEM! lol

The GM doesn't seem to have the dedicated following that some of the other models do but you are talking about the first ones. I would say if the tags and main cases are good, he'll probably get that from somebody. One of the premier collectors of the GM is fairly close to you in Ivanhoe Mn.,check with him & see what he thinks.

"One man's trash is another man's treasure..."
.
"It's not what it's worth, it's what it'll fetch..."
.
How bad do you want them?
.
Do you have that kind of money to spare on two tractors that will require more thousands to restore, and then probably never do a full day's work again?
.
If you do lay out that kind of money and restore them, what are the chances that you can sell one of them for serious money to help pay for the other one?
.
These are the questions I'd be asking myself.
.
Other folks can offer advice, but in the end, it is *you* who will decide whether the deal goes down or not.
.
Good luck to you -- hope you make a good choice, whatever it may be!

Seems right steep to me too. I'll admit to being a real cheapskate though. Even at that price somebody will buy em..... .eventually
