Got an e-mail from a James Smith today saying he wants a WD45 I have. He said he would pay me $1530 for it and I asked $1500 he also said he would send a money order and his agent would pick up the tractor at a later time. Sounds fishy to me what do you guy think??
Thanks

Tell him to send the money order to his agent and then have his agent bring you cash when he comes to pick up the tractor.

Even if the bank cashes the money order it may take weeks for them to find out it's counterfeit and then they deduct the money back out of your account. So just because the bank cashes a money order or a cashier's check doesn't mean it's any good.

It is a scam. The money order will not clear.

Ive read a lot about this kind of scam, but if you make sure the money order clears your bank and you have the money in your account, befor you give him the merchandise, how can you lose.

Usually the "agent" reference denotes it as a scam. What person do you know uses an "agent" in small transactions?

Sounds fishy, I have never in my life had somebody offer me more than my asking price on anything, usually less. Unless they were doing it to try to P someone off.

Yes,it's a scam. I advertised my pipeline milking system in an online ad and got the same response. The check's not going to be any good. Just delete the email and forget it.Sherry Schaefer said somebody tried the same thing with her dad.

Sounds like the same line they are sending me via e-mail, so I used yahoo for a free e-mail account, send them my proposal from my vp/account executive john obonhamu, of the ruthless turdeater corp inc., my new company formed just for the purpose of baiting these guys and entertaining myself with these jerks. They seemed have stopped sending their offers, probably wised up as a lot of em have had the tables turned on em by baiters, problem is they should not have posted on their websites, educating them about counter measures like baiting. Idiots

Not necessarily on the agent part!

A buddy of mine won a big 4 wheeler drag race and next thing you know he was getting IM'd by a guy with broken English wanting to buy it.

He finally shot the guy an obscene $ figure (like mid $20K's) thinking it would shut him up.

Next thing you know, the guy says his agent will be by to crate it up and send it over to Saudi Arabia. He had the money wired to his account the next day and the guy came and crated it up and it's in Saudia Arabia now.

Hi Old , In my mind , the red flag goes up in any kind of deal that is not simple , plain , cut and dry ; especially from a smooth , fast talking actor. Them kind of people always seam to be trying to con someone out of something. Somethings up??
