Sometimes, ya just get kinda lucky.

I stopped at the neighbor's yesterday and took some pictures of the tie actuator on his 855 bale command machine.

First picture is his machine; second is mine. Think this is gonna be a simple bolt-on deal and is just a matter of putting the wires on correctly. :>)

Thanks for the idea!

Allan

Allen,

In your earlier post you mentioned using a "normally closed" switch. I think you want a "normally open" switch that's held closed when the tie arm is at the "rest" position.

Yes Sir,

That would work. Do you know if the factory switch in the picture is so?

Allan, I think Pete in MD is right about those switches having a common, normally open and normally closed terminals on them. If you have trouble finding one let me know as I have about 5 or 6 in my service truck and I would be glad to send you a couple. Have a good one eh?

Thanks for the offer.

We've got a NH dealer about 60 miles from here; I'll see if they have it or at least can order it.

If no go, I'll hollar at ya.

Thanks,

Allan

No,I don't Allan.

Some good switches like Suare D have two sets of contacts inside, one for N.O. and one for N.C.

By the way, what are you doing at the computer this time of day? Your work all caught up and nothing else to do?

Allan

That looks like it should be easy to set up. Heck, if you can find a donor baler, looks like parts will just bolt up, nothing to build.

Glad I could help

John

I was thinking that your baler was an Auto-Wrap, but yea, that looks like a simple bolt on deal. Those 855s are good balers. Out here the sand ate the chains up pretty fast so we ended up trading for the belt balers.
