My wife and I are thinking of getting a new bed. To many sore backs in the morning-from working on the old tractors?. What are you guy's thoughts on the air beds? I tried one a while back and thought it was a good feel.

I've had a 'bottom of the line' model for three years and it's the best bed I've ever had. Fits like a glove so to speak. I even have the manual control and it's no problem to keep the adjustment in line.

We bought a new top 'o the line model back in '02. Wife wanted, I would have been happy with the mid range model. While it is a VERY comfortable bed that you wont have trouble falling to sleep on, it's not the magic bullet I had hoped it would be for lower back pain. Probably works for some though. I'd have to think hard about buying another one. Lots 'o money.

I"ve heard some motels have them now. I think I would try it out that way first before spending the big bucks. Really, how can you tell by laying on one for a few minutes at a store.

Wife likes it alot. Costs way to much for what you get. I go back to the old bed occasionally and sleep good on it. Keep your old bed around for awhile, just in case. The trial period isn't long enough, wasn't long after the return date I went back to the old bed. We spent around 3 grand on ours 2 years ago I think. Hope your bed works for you. chris

I've slept on water beds, and I've slept on air beds. The absolute best bed I've ever slept on is the one I'm still using, and it is also the absolute cheapest bed I've ever bought. It is marketed towards the hotel/motel industry, and uses a platform rather than a box spring. Since I started using this bed, I've never woke up with a sore back, can't say that for the higher priced gimmicky beds I've used.

Buy One!!! Used to have a conventional setup. It got to be 10 or so yrs old. Was having back problems all of the time. One morn" I got out of bed and went straight to the floor (back spasm). Bought the sleep number bed right away and the back problem disappeared.

Went to the showroom and tried all three of the models. Most expensive was very nice but way too pricey. Bought the middle of the line (still has the pillow top). Couldn"t be happier

MSD, Buy one. You will not regret it. I have had one for about seven years now and would not trade it for anything. I have had back problems for years and after having this bed I have not had to go see a bonecrusher since. You really do feel so refreshed the next morning. My only advice if you do get one is to make sure you get a head & seatboard, because of being so light, they tend to move around a bit when you're getting busy with the misses. I have the king size with seperate control and pillow top cover.
One word of caution if you have not seen or heard from the news they may mold on the bladder.

We bought a select comfort bed ten or twelve yrs ago and we love it. We had a problem with the pump once, all it took was a phone call and they sent us new one in three days. Ours has lifetime warranty.

I'm heading out the door to bed the cattle as we speak.

I use rotary-combined wheat straw and they really seem to like it. :>)

Greetings,
We have been sleeping on an air bed for probably 5 years. We invested the money knowing that I will never have to buy another mattress in my life time. Liked it so much we have one in our quest bedroom for company.

Our friends have one of those sleep number beds, king size with a separate control for each side. I can't stand it - I'll take my decent-quality pillow top over that one any day. They love it and wouldn't trade for a pillow top...

Bottom line is you really need to sleep on one for a few nights before you can make a decision, everyone likes different things.

our SC bed came WITH a pillow top. separate controls are nice. my suggestion...do like we did and find one of their display stores so you can try them all out... there are many different models to choose from, but be forewarned...you'll like the more expensive models the best.

We have had one for about 5 years now. Queen size. A king may be different but on our the missus likes her side really soft and i like mine hard. I spend the nite trying to roll uphill to my side. Finally we found a compromise but neither one of us is real happy. To sleep on alone it is the best I have ever had..

Thanks for all the input. I think we are going to get one. The last spring mattress lasted about seven years so if it makes 20 the cost shouldn't be that big a deal in the long haul.
