Why did it blow? I know of a Peugeot diesel that engine was ruined being delivered to dealer, pickup crew from dealer was salesmen and washer/detail crew- no mechanics. they got 3 gas, 1 diesel from Kenosha receiving wharehouse, filled all tanks with gasoline and drove them to dealership in Illinois where they would finish dealer prep- as in put on decals by filler necks that said ;unleaded fuel only'- OOPS this packet has a decal that says 'Diesel Fuel only- do not use gasoline' Don't worry- that engine won't turn over now, it started making noise crossing border, we'll have to get another engine under warrantee from factory- what do you mean driver error/abuse? Dealer has to pay cash for new engine? Call insurance company- check bonehead mechanic section. RN

Your IP addresses are the same, meaning it came from the same computer, meaning most likely it came from the same person.

You ever heard of IP addresses? It appears yours is 165.138.51.13. Which is also the IP address of a poster below, Jobsiteroy. Therefore you two are the same fella. Funny how you answer to your own post under a different name and even better yet you didn't know Dodge used Cummins engines in their trucks yet you can claim that you had one croak in less than 10 miles.

I have a 2006 Dodge 2500 Ext Cab 4X4 Bighorn with the Cummins. I have had great luck so far with my truck. I pull a 27 foot 5th wheel or a 3 horse trailer Gn. I have 36,000 miles so far and my milage is going up all the time. I average 20 mpg. The new ones are alot less noisey. I think the 2007's will have to use the additive in the fuel to run right. Feel free to ask any questions. Plus oil change is only 12 qt. Less than Fords and Chevy's. Hope this helped.
Mike

years ago about 68 or 69 I was down at the local Chevy dealer they had just delivered a new pickup that a farmer had ordered. As they were taking it of the truck the trannie fell out out on the ground. Talk about a BUMMER.
they called the farmer , he came down took one look and said "That's not my truck" and left.
Funny seeing that trannie held up by a couple of loose bolts on the rack.
Walt PS it can happen any of them beter to find it sooner than later.

Tell us more details.. If it was a new truck, and it blew in 10 miles, and you do not want it back, I would imagine that the dealer should just cancel the sale.. if not, check with an attorney. That engine breaking, sounds like a fluke, I would not let it scare me away from a Cummins. I once saw a brand-new Detroit blow, with only an hour on the meter... It can happen to anything..

Something freaky there. The 5.9 or 67 Cummins is a million mile engine. Must be they didn't put oil in it or filled it with gas or something stupid like that. That should be warrantable without batting an eyelash.

I don't understand. Sounds like a REAL lemon. What did you get the 5-9 cummins or the 6-7 merc?

WRONG! It's a Cummins in reply to jobsiteroy, 03-27-2007 08:56:28
Dodge does'nt make the engine, Cummins does. For a Cummins, Detroit, Cat, etc. to blow up after 10 miles is VERY UNUSUAL. What's the rest of the story Happydeere?

I don't believe it seems alot of this going around after fords massive recall on the 08 super duties. If it did I apologize but I spend alot of time on the truck boards and usually it's someone starting stuff.

I found this on Diesel Truck Resouces (Dodge/Cummins forum) and figure it will evoke a few rants from the Ford boys. :->
