I believe that I.H.C. bought Steiger in the late 70's and of course were then partof the package that Case acquired. Case reintroduced the name more recently. With Fiat owning both the Ford New Holland and Case IH brands there are now both blue Steigers and red STeigers.

Great old tractors. I still plant and harvest with a pair of Steigers, an 84 model Panther KM325 and an 85 model Puma KR1225. Very simple and reliable machines, but they only fit in certain areas/types of farming. I put pictures of mine on tractor photos.

Yes the Buhlers at bult in Winnepeg... they took over Versatile.

The local dealer sells both. The blue FNH at the extreme left was built in Winnipeg too.

Steiger built tractors for Ford in the 70's in Fargo.

Then Ford New Holland was into Versatile and the blue "Fords" were built in Winnipeg.

Now the blue New Hollands are again built in Fargo.

Funny you mention that. I just met one on the road today and thought to myself it had been a long time since I had seen one. This was a really nice looking articulating fwd with duals on all sides. Sure had a nice sound to the motor. Lots of HP!

Not familiar with that brand. Was that one of the little Fords like the 8N, 9N or something?

It was one of the first 4 wheel drive tractors ever made, It was made in northern minnesota for awhile but then I think the factory moved to Fargo N.D. I think the main office is still in northern minnesota though.

third party image

Besides the CNH RED tractors; the Fargo plant builds BLUE New Hollands like the one in the foreground.

The 2 middle units are Buhlers with a BLUE Ford/New Holland at the extreme left with a red CNH/Steiger next to it.
