Posted last week or so about my 424 int carb problems. i done just about everything everyone said and finally fixed it.

I turned the solenoid valve (in an attempt to remove it) which backed the needle from it out of the carb ever so slightly. when i realized i could not completely remove solenoid until carb was removed again due to manifold conflict i decided to hit the start button and it fired up. if the solenoid is screwed all the way in the tractor will not hit a lick, the farther you back it out the higher it revs.

thanks for all your help.

I suspect that valve controls all the fuel flow from the carb to the engine. It would pretty much have to to kill the engine.
Thanks for the post letting us know what happened. I have not had to go into my carb yet.

So the anti-backfire solenoid has failed and is not opening the main jet when power is applied when the switch is turned on?
