I was given my grandfathers 65 Dieselmatic and I do not know what year is is. It contains a S/N of 686607 can someone tell me the year of this tractor? It also has the multipower lever which I do not know what it is supposed to do, can someone explain that to me because I do not know if it is working.
Thanks!

Mutipower is a high and low range for each gear shift makes for 12 gear trans exm.1st gear low range and low multipower eguals gear one now shift multi to high =gear two now shift trans into high range with low multi = gear three now shift to high multi and you have = gear four. This gives four ranges each gear.NOW CAUTION CAUTION !!! THE MULTI POWER SHIFTER MUST BE IN HIGH RANGE TO HAVE HOLD BACK AND NOT FREE WHEEL DOWN HILLS ALWAYS SHIFT TO HIGH GOING DOWN HILLS AND SLOW ENGINE SPEED DOWN CAUTION!!!!!

marky...ya get yerself a 1962 model. i believe the multi power allows you to shift into low range without using the clutch, but i've heard you have no engine breaking power when going downhill in low range multi power. i might be wrong on all this, i've never had any experience with them.

in the boxes to the left on this page look for the research & info box, then click 'tractor registry' & go into MF model 65. the serial numbers there will help you get near the yr. of manf. Above the boxes is one called marketplace where you can buy a manual to explain all the mysteries of tractor ownership.
