I have a friend who has a small Avery. It is about the size of a Farmall Cub, tractor and engine size. He doesn't know much about it, and neither do I. I don't see it listed in my Nebraska test book either. Does anyone know about them? The engine, as I said, is about the same size as a Farmall cub, as are the tires and rims. There is a drive shaft connecting the engine clutch to the rear transaxle. It is sort of a neat little tractor, anything we could find out would be interesting. Thanks, Tom

FWIW...if that"s the Cleveland/Cletrac general GG there"s a piece on it under the "Let"s talk Rusty Iron" column ( I think on gasenginemagazine.com site archives). My barely legible notes(if correct) say acq by BFAvery 42, sold 42-49 as Model A, which my book shows came with three engines, all Herc"s: IXA-3 of 113ci, IXK-3 of 123ci, and IXB-3 of 133ci.

I believe that would be the same as a General, which was a Cletrac wheel tractor. When Oliver bought out Cletrac they didn't want the wheel tractor,so it was sold to BF Avery then to Minneapolis Moline. The Cletrac crawlers had a Hercules engine,so I assume the wheel tractor did too.

Hey Farmall A boy? How"s your tractor coming? Got the engine torn down yet? I saw the pictures a while back, looked pretty bad.
