I have a 2005 Huskee - Tractor Supply Company - (MTD) 50" with 25HP B&S twin V - Hyro Stat Trans with 75 hours. Runs fine on the flat but going up even samll incline I have to down shift (take foot of gas and then press gas again) to get tractor to go up the incline. Any help appreciated. Still under warranty until Sept.

Also battery is 2 yrs old and taken out in winter. Battery goes dead and I need a jump start. Hour guage blinks and won't add hours. If battery gets too low electric clutch for mower deck will not engage. Works for a while when I recharge battery.
Battery or Alternator problem?

Thanks, John G.

I agree with Walt, take it back. And while it's there let them test the charging system. Sounds like cheap battery.

I'll bet the belt from the engine to the trans is slipping and needs to be replaced

Get new battery, before you burn something out.
As to not climbing inclines; either Hydrostatic trans is going out, or motion belt is sliping. Better get it to authorized repair quick. Trans could cost you 300-600 after warranty. Tom

I agree on the battery, just removing it isn't enough. If you have it in a warm place you need to kep it fully charged.

If its still under Warrantee then call the company where you bought it. They should have no problem with getting back running for you.
check to see if you have on site or take in then let them fix it DON"T touch it yourself you might void the warrante.
Walt
