Hello,

I'm looking for a set of old school 45 degree lugged tires. The problem is I'm looking for 16.9 x 38. Yes I've tried ME miller but they don't go up to the size I'm looking for. If you go to www.nebraskatire.com and look at the Continental "farmer ac bias tire" or BF Goodrich "powergrip" you will find a set like I'm looking for. Does any body have any experience with them or any other style of 45 degree bar in that size? I've also looked at Titan but I don't think they look to much like the classic old tire.

Thanks,

Mark

The BF Goodrich 16.9-38 in an 8 ply rating are availible and would cost $470 each. The do have the extra deep tread, half way between a regular tread and a rice tire.

Mark, I recently purchased a set of the Continental Farmer AC in size 16.9X30 for my Massey Harris 44 and think they are the closest to the old 45 degree tire.

You guys have me all mad now. WHY CANT THEY MAKE TIRES LIKE THEY USED TO!?! (I have two Farmalls) You would think since OEM makes just about an entire M now days they could get period appropriate tires. I want to see the check marks come back. They must not have been too great in the field, but they sure did look neat.
PS - I cant stand people who put the long bar - long bar - short bars on. Bad experiences...

I couldn't agree more! The long bar short bar tire looks rediculous to begin with. It looks even more insane on a nice classic tractor. I'm sorry, but to me the tire selection on any tractor is just the item that makes or breaks a good restoration. One mans opinion.

I have a set of BFG"s on a "50 John Deere A and have had very good luck with them. I purchased mine from Troy"s Tires in Lafayette, IN. His phone # is 765-538-2374. He has carried a nice inventory of the BFG"s.

The BFG's are good tires but if you find them better grab them because they are quiting the bias tire line.

have you looked at the Firestone Traction Field and Road? I like it for the old tractor look.
