Use to be if the farmers prospered so did the economy as a whole.

Will it this time I don't know.

There aren't as many farmers to spread the wealth around as there used to be.

One more for you to ponder: Every dollar spent can be trace back to one thing? What is that one thing?

Don't forget, farmers are the only business people who buy at retail and sell at wholesale.

Hey guys, here's the way I see it. As farmers, we buy tractors, combines, equipment, fuel, fertilizer, seed, and chemicals. Livestock needs feed. We provide labor, management, and marketing. We either own or rent the land. The Good Lord created the soil and gives us the sunshine and the rain. Ultimately our success comes from being able to sell the bounty that this parnership created.

There are only two occupations on this earth that create wealth. "FARMING AND MINING" Everyone else is freeloading.

I for one, like Gary's enthusiasm. Granted I respect everyones polite and honest opinion here, but why bash him for getting his hopes up. From what I have learned from Gary, he seems to have good managment practices. So he should be good. The ones that will fail will be the ones that dont have $, and now go out and borrow, hoping to get rich in corn. I wish Gary the best, and all the rest of you going big on corn, but like your other investments, diversify, I would not put everything into one thing, thats risky. Here in central MN, we have a company called "First Fuel Banks". You can prepay and lock in your price at that time with no quantity limit that I know of, and no time limit to use it. Thay have ALL fuels. So those around here that prepayed for fuel a while back when prices were low, and purchased enough to get through the next year or 2 or 3, should be a bit ahead of the game, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I need more coffee

I am fairly sensiable. I used to be on the debate team in High School. You learn to argue any subject both ways.Try me sometime.

I also respect all opinions even if I don't agree with them.

"Every dollar spent can be trace back to one thing? What is that one thing?"

How far do you want to go back?

In order: Big Bang, Sun, Planet, Ocean, Land?

Every single dollar I spend can be traced directly back to an overdraft slip at my bank. :>(

But where did the bank get that pink slip?

They bought it from a print shop.

The print shop bought it from the paper mill.

The paper mill got it from the tree.

The tree came from the EARTH.....

It all comes from the earth.

You are 100% correct. Everything we have comes from the earth, either directly or indirectly. There is no such thing as 100% man made.
