544D is all fueled up, blower thawed out and oiled, spent yester day making snow damns along the driveway and to the east of the barn. I am gonna get the generator ready for a quick hook up today, chickens are back now so I rally do not want to lose power in that barn. Boy what a difference new loaded tires make on that tractor moving snow.

So far, this WD with fluid in rears, and a homemade blade on loader has worked well for Dad. With the loader on the blade, he says he can make a pretty decent pile too! Greg

I here ya,
Spent last evening gettin the skid steer, and blower tractor greased up, fueled up and ready to go again also. All of a sudden MN feels like MN again. How much snow did you get where your from over the weekend?
I`m just about the last place in the southwest corner of stearns cty. According to the news, they said we got 12-14, I would`ve guessed it closer to 18-20 though. My yard is pretty open to the SE and that`s where it came in from, so I got filled up pretty good.
Good luck

St.Cloud airport said they got 16", they are south west of me about 5 miles, I would say we had closer to 18", that is about what was in the older people yards that are surrounded by woods and had no drifting. I was nothing but drifts in the farm yard, I am all open to the north and east, so I end up with that snow in the yard rather than on the feilds. I am just east of stcloud about 6 miles, and 1 mile north of the sherburne/benton county line. I had spots that still had bare ground, and I had drifts over 5 feet. I actually enjoyed the day.

I bet you make darn sure you know which way the wind is from when you run a blower without a cab.

I don't know how you can stand that cold snow down your back.{:~)

Yeah, I have a 1/3 mile long driveway that runs no/so. My 730 JD sits up nice and open too.
If you don`t play it right, you are one snow covered popcycle in a hurry. This snow last weekend, I got lazy. I have a 1085 massey I keep in town in the winter for blowing everything out at the shop. Once I got done here, I drove it the 8 miles home and blew everything out there, along with all the neighbors. I`d been sick, and really liked the thought of sitting in that heated cab, listening to the tunes vs freezing my butt off. Worked so nice I may just do it again this go round.

Ya, it kinda sucks opening up a 1/2 mile drive to the east, when the wind is 30 mph from the east. Sometimes I can break a trail with the loader, other times I cant and HAVE to blow it.

Is your 544 a hydro? Ifso that must be one slick setup for a blower.

Yup, Hydro. I love it for blowing and pushing snow, I just wish the hydraulics were faster for the loader, and the blower was about a foor wider.

Ready here also suppose to be ice at noon by what the weather guessers say.

Sold one group of calves yesterday so just a few fat steers and the cows to worry about now.

I may be wrong about the new generator sitting for 10 years before its next use.

I guess we will have to do like our ancesters did with the weather."we will have to let it come"
