I have a 1958 slant steer 420U with the wavey hubs on the rear wheels. I was wondering why some came with the hub type I have and others with power adjust rims? I am looking to buy a specific 2 bottom plow for this tractor, but information indicates the tractor would need power adjust rims. Can anyone give me background as to why more than one rim type came with this tractor?

Different options for wheels from the factory. The spin out wheels were probably a option that cost a few more dollars than the wavy centers. Original purchaser didn't see the need to spend the extra $.

Thanks for your reply. Would purchasing a plow for this tractor be feasible since it doesn"t have the spinouts? Would the wheels be able to be out enough to allow the three point plow to work corectly>?

Thanks

Dan

I assume you're planning on a 3 pt, 2 bottom plow.

You will be able to get the rear wheel spacing you want with your wheels. In addition to the two mounting places on each rim, there were spacers which could be placed between the rim and the hub. then you have the choice of switching the wheels left and right.
