My neighbor had a 1934 Case L, His son name it MISS AMERICA, all I can remember the Case could out work any other tractor in the 30,000 acre river bottoms.

I call my green and grey Fergy 35 "Mitusa" stands for M made I in T the U-S-A.
Just last weekend I plowed by neighbors driveway out of snow--it seems his Kubota wouldn't start.
Yes, I did remind him of what my tractors name stood for. He wasn't in the joking mood.
I told him I'd give him "jump" except my tractor didn't use Fuji batteries.

By the way, I do not have a patent on the name. Ha Ha. Feel free to use around any of those "Jap"tors you come across.

Years ago one of the tractors my dad owned was a Case, it was called, opps can't say that! Dad called the Massey Ferguson, Fergie. The JD-B was little john and the JD 4020 was none the less Big John. Your project is a good looking tractor even if it is red (just kidding) we had red ones too. Good luck with the name. Most all of the older farmers had names for there tractors as well as there livestock, dogs ect. I had kind of forgotten about that till I read your post, brings back memories.

Naming a tractor is a very personal thing just let your kids play around with it and sooner or later they will come up with something that just fits it. Sometimes you just have to own them awhile before something hits you between the eyes.

Named our Oliver 1550 "Bodacious"- it was far larger than any other tractors we had in 1978, and was our first diesel, so it also roared rather impressively.

Named my to20 "Humpty Dumpty" - it not only looks like it had a great fall, but it likely will take all the king's horses and men to put the darn thing back together..... .....

yeah, that was my original intention, but my granddaughter said it didn't look scary, just kinda like it fell off a cliff - thus the name. You know you can't argue with granddaughters cause they'll probably help pick out the nursing home to put you in one day!

I have not named any of my three Case tractors yet (VAC,SC DC), but our '51 DC got the name BERTHA many years ago as it was the big horsepower on the farm for a long time. BERTHA still doesn't shy away from an honest day's work.

You have struck a familiar chord with our family. My three year old son started us naming our farm equipment, starting with tractors, trucks, trailers, and pretty much anything that has wheels. It started with naming his toy tractors and such, but graduated to the big stuff. The names we gave are family names of grandparents or uncles and aunts who he does not know now but will later as he learns the family tree. For example, we have two tractors from my grandfather (his greatgrandfather) one is named Clarence (my grandfather's first name), and the other is "grandpa Kuhnke" . He doesn't yet know about the names but is learning. I think it is a great idea to name the tractor(s).

My '46 H is named Mr. Haney, after the Green Acres con man and the fella who sold him to me. My '67 Ford 3500D TLB is named Old Stoney, after the only named backhoe I've come across in my reading.
When I was shopping for a Farmall the other one I looked at was a Super M. I had already decided to name it "Clark" if I bought it.

alot of thought went into the names of my tractors....'51 TO-20 is "fergie", '55 TO-35 is "old 35" real original huh? i just named 'em so my wife and kid know which tractor i'm talking about.

i have known other tractors. Big Orange was one of them, Old Blue and Mr. Green Jeans. obviously color names. (the green one was an old oliver, no JD's in my past)

tell the kids to get to know the tractor and what it sounds like, how it feels to ride way up there in the cab, etc. then come up with a fittin' name for it. nice tractor by the way.

Since our tractors are sometimes more loved than our wives...or nearly so...we name them whatever the spirit moves us. It's your's to name and enjoy. Old Minneapolis-Molines were often called "Minnie Mo", old John Deeres were called "Poppin' Johny", old Allis-Chalmers were called "Alice", etc.
I'd like to know what you come up with so get back to us when you decide. Have fun. We do. It's amazing how grown adults act around old tractors.

A picture, a description and some history would help. Our cat is named Casey as she was born in the same barn as a Case tractor was garaged. Other names considered was the name of the road, closest town, property owners name or some derivation thereof. Anything helps.

I call my '46 Ford 2N the "THUNDER LIZARD". It's built low to the ground, and makes a deep rumbling sound due to its open dual exhaust pipes.
