I have a van,Dodge Sprinter 2500 3/4 ton,158 cn. turbo charged ,5 cyl, with 5 speed electronic trans..... built in Germany by Mercedes I notice it takes for ever for it to reach 180f. runs along for a long time at 120f. not warm enough to get the inside warm.....city driving dont think it would ever get to 180f....180f is where it runs when warm or on free way.....A real preformer and 21 mpg. at 75-80 on interstate..... .

I don't know if this applies in your case but if you are used to gas vehicles a diesel will take longer to warm up. Volkswagen certainly used to recommend turning on all the lights etc to apply a load to the engine otherwise it would never warm up idling. Hope this helps, tractorsam
