Hey,
Has anybody EVER used a Brown Tree Cutter before? Just wondering what your thoughts were on these good or bad. Got a friend trying to find a way to clear a bunch of brush and saplings..

I have used one quite a lot. Tough, rugged, bullet proof-naw its more than that. What you can cut with one is near any thing and they just keep on surviving horrendous abuse. The operator usually backs off before one breaks. The next weakest link is the tractor; beating on 8" trees is hard on drive lines. A Brown used to it's potential will quickly wear out a couple of tractors.

BE SURE TO USE AN OPERATOR PROTECTER SHIELD. These are made of heavy mesh steel and fit across the rear of the tractor. I've had em throw 10" rocks at me HARD. With out that shield a feller could get very seriously killed.

My daddy in law has one I think it would cut telephone poles down if you gave it time. Was cutting in a small lot with large weeds and ran over a metal cattle panel it shreaded it in a million pieces. Its nice on the bigger stuff you can back into it and it shreds it.You need a over rideing clutch ,that thing has a lot of inertia spining to a stop can ruin a p.t.o. brake.
