went looking for a baby calf born last night-found him and in the process I saw the first robin-can spring be very far behind

Was told by the town resources officer that there are 2 'flocks' of robins. Locals who go south and northen (Canada) who think we are south.

They do change their diet (no insects) here. As a kid you never saw them, but they are common now when the ground is free of snow, which it has been all year until yesterday.

I read that the Robins here go to Maine and Nova Scotia for the winter, then come back south in the spring.. Sounds dumb, but they survive..

not one Robin over here in Nova Scotia ,,,black birds ,juko's and the odd sparrow ,,,but no Robins round these parts in the winter ..

Would you believe that my wife & I have seen flocks of robins here in western Minnesota on a 20 below zero day??
Not only once, but at least 3 times??
I think their internal guidance system is in need of re-alignment!

Yes. We've had robins by the thousands for several weeks and it is still cold as a well digger's @ss here in south Georgia.
