Just some more pictures from a different tractor, Raleigh. This engine is brand spankin' new too.

Oh, and another thing just for what it's worth? When they get to pullin' hard, you'll see the blowby. Promise. :>)

Again this is the kind of Smoke I see on mine. If this is no problem then it does not bother me. However I did see one that did not smoke, but it was a late mode 4020. I passed on it but maybe I should NOT have....

Raleigh please don't worry so much your gonna have a heart attack.

I have tractors that have had blowby since they were new. They have over 6000 hours now and have not been overhauled.

They use very little oil also.

Would they put that blow by pipe on there if it weren't to release blow by.

If were a steady stream of oil coming out I might get a little worried.

Gary

Now you say they could have alot of Blow by under a load????? HHHHH mmmm I don't know I'm a rookie but I might just chalenge you on that one if I may LOL...
I have seen three tractor running on a dyno two Diesels and one gasser...The gasser made on 70 HP but it had the same almost no blow by when just idleing.

Then the late model 1971 4020 with the littel slight leak between the head and the block had NO Blow by either on the dyno. Like I said it did have a small drip coming between the haed and block, which I later found out later, this was NOT a problem.

Then the one I have now Pulled REALLY hard on the Dyno, Made alot of noise and some black smoke! Made 100 HP on the dyno, it had no blow by either....

I am not sure....how could it have blow by and still be a good motor?

for what its worth,,we have 2 4020s and a 4010,,the 4020s one with a blower both smoke when puttering around,,but not much under load,,and have some blow by,,the 4010 dont smoke at idle but is a frieght train under load, and has blow by like crazy,,just went to the neighbors for OH,,leaks antifreeze to crankcase,,and head gasket leaks lots of oil to outside, you can see the stream,,but on a cold day the 4010 will start easier,,go figure,,the one 4020 that I posted about that used 1.5 gallons of oil on the standby generator,,the neighbor came over and plugged the crankcase venilator,,and said give that a try,,he pulled the intake hose and the intake manifold had bunch of oil in it,,Dunno?????
