Is there a way to check if the engine is froze? I cant start it becuase the carb is junk and the battery is dead. I've tried rebuilding the carb a couple of times, but everytime I get a kit, its missing the one part I need. But I want to know if the engine is stuck or not.

If its a 44-6, then put a large pipe wrench on the transmission input shaft and see if you can turn the engine over that way.

In addition to the other comments, I would like to add that rolling the engine over by hand, then by the starter (if equipped) in short bursts without spark plugs or fuel is an excellent way to be sure oil is delivered to all engine components prior to putting a fire in her. I even went as far as using the starter to ensure I had oil pressure prior to the start. It can even warn of impending trouble prior to catastrophe. Tight spots, noises, and other problems can be sorted out before it causes a major breakage. HTH

...only way i know of without at least dropping the oil pan, is pull all your spark plugs out so there's no compression and see if you can crank it over by hand.
