Had a Massey Fergeson turf 20 former state highway mower was set up to do 35 mph, but you had to put your heels on the steering drag links to keep her from shakin, and one hand over your head to keep your hat on, kinda made you look ridiculous goin down the road.

The fastest tractor made isn't available for sale. It is a JCB but it is a loader backhoe. I don't know if JCB made more than one of them? They call it the GT. It has a dragster engine in it! I think it goes over 100 mph but not sure. Might be something about it on their web page. I saw a picture of it on a poster at a dealer. Dave

The Fastrac 3250, used as a push car for the JCB Dieselmax diesel land speed record car pushed at 80mph, at Bonniville this last speed week. It's alleged to go even faster...

My dad says the old Silver Kings were speedsters.
And if you take the fenders off a Cocksut 50 and spin the tires around so they dish in it seems like you're going like blazes. Course you're lucky if you break 12 mph.
Our old Case 800 would fly if you really leaned on the foot feed.

Those Love/Fridays running 60-65 were reportedly those with the two-speed rear axle either Jacob Love or Dave Friday put in a few (accounts differ), but, also reportedly, that was only with the governor tweaked or disabled.

A European spec Deere 7000 or 8000 series tractor can be ordered with the 60Km/37MPH top gear.

Well don't know for sure on that but a Farmall 460 gasser with the govener by passed twisten 5200 on a sun tach in 5 th gear with 15.5 x38's will run down the road at just about 65 if ya got the nerve and this was on a tric. And a oliver 88 with a 390 Ford V8 setting on 18.4 X34's pullen two parker 165 gravity boxes loaded with ear corn kept a VW out in the left lane till ya backed out of the throttel because a state cop wanted to have a talk with ya about the top speed that one can drive with a SMV sign , I thought it was funny but Mr. Bear had no sence of humor.

Bottom line is, you gotta be dam*ed nuts to drive a tractor at speeds over 25 mph!

Just think about it, a wore out tractor for example, the front end wobble would be enough to kill you and perhaps other people on the road!

Co-ops were no "slackers" in the speed department, either!

I need to get mine restored and race you guys with the fast tractors!

My cousin put 2 trannys in an F-20 in the 1960's sometime to get a road gear and it went at least 50 MPH . We thought he would kill himself but he didnt. I think that tractor still sets in the trees on the farm.

I think the Friday was fastest. I think next fastest was a Wards at over 40 mph. In modern tractors a JCB 4x4 will do over 50. I followed one one day and he was pulling big manure tanker and doing the speed limit at 55.

Barney Oldfield at the wheel of an Allis Chalmers Model U at the Wis State fair back in the 30's. 64 MPH as I recall. My Dad told me about it. He was there to see it.

The Friday, which was an orchard tractor made in Michigan, was claimed to have been able to do a little over 60 MPH. Jim

a 706 Farmall will go about 25 mph with 18-4-38 rears. but I think I heard that a Siver King would do about 32 mph.
