I faithfully watch this program. I enjoy Max Armstrong and also all the neat old tractors at various shows around the country. Lately, unfortunately, all Classic Tractors has been is someone taking home movies, no good sound or commentary. There was even a combine demolition derby the other day!! I feel this type of effort on their part is extremely tacky. I have emailed RFD TV and expressed my disappointment with their programming on Classic Tractors. Anyone else noticed this?..... ..P

Disapointing at best. I at first was thrilled to see RFD. Now all you see is horse crap, and reruns of anything that was worth watching---I'm very disapointed and can only predict a slow death to RFD. Another observation is their adds are so friequent that I feel a adverse effect has taken place in my mind. RFD is the only thing they advertize it seems. Another sad observation of tough financial problems perhaps.

I belong to a small antique club and for years I have had the privalage to run the big rock crusher as well as a brick making machine. (to date no one has taken my job away or even suggested they would like to.)The rock crusher can be pulled with a AC WD, A JD, Or a H Farmall. It seemed no one ever took the time to walk over to our location untill we started belting up a A JD with a burned out muffler, and put the throttle wide open to start the belt. It actually puts the A on her knees to start the big flywheel in motion. Since we started doing this it seems they come out of the wood work to see what the noise is all about. RFD could film a saw mill, plowing, or just about anything where the tractor has to stand its ground. I just can't see it being very expensive.

I have flickey fingers so every now and then I run across the cattle auctions, and I simply can not believe the quality of auctioneers. Once in a great while I can figure out the lot number, & that is on a good day. I can only hope the auctioneer could aford a set of teeth, and would show the grace of spitting out his chew before crying. Must be a good ol boy that owns the show.

Oh sure it probably seems we could do a better job, but I purchased Mediacon just mainly for RFD and now I never watch it. I do truley believe there is alot of intresting farm related events to show. I bought some videos probably twenty years ago that just had buldozers shoving dirt, tractors plowing / field work with someone running a video camera. They were real popular with the adults as well as the kids.

I know getting rid of a CEO is a tough job, but I can't help thinking they better figure out a new format if they want any future.

All I can say is the last two shows sucked.

Whats worse is that I watched them to the end.

I expect they are doing the best they can with what they have. I'm sure they can't afford to pay much, and apparently nobody is willing to make good quality programs for the money offered. I'm sure if someone wants to make classy tractor videos and offer them to RFD, they would be delighted to show them. Its just market forces at work, I'm afraid.

What alot of folks who have just gotten a dish is that some time ago, DTV have Channel Earth, one of Orion Samuelsons ventures. I saw every Classic Tractor Fever long before they were on RFDTV.Maxes shows were new, but they wasted no time in wearing those out. The Praire farm Reports are now about 10 years old. There was the one venture they had,the name escapes me now, but it was accually good, they did inteveiws with the owners, and it really showed some of the ignorance of some the owners, but showed their love for the hobby.I havent seen any of the "home movie" shows, and I dought I will make the effort to try and see one. RFDTV is the Tractor Supply of television.

I'm not real happy about the home movie quality videos either, however, at least they are something new. Seems like I have seen all the old ones at least three times. I suppose there is not much demand for old tractor shows in Hollywood.

The Prairie Farm Report Machinery of the Past has been showing the same set of shows for 2 years. I agree about the amateur video on most of the tractor shows.

I have noticed that they seem to only feature old iron from up in Canada. Seldom is anything from the USA shown, with the possible exception of a tractor pull or two. Don't know what the problem is with any shows from the USA, unless our laws make it too difficult to produce or show on their relatively limited budget. I just know if I am watching anything on RFD lately and the wife comes in, I get reminded that we have seen that same program before.
