I tried to reply to a question by David in Wales to a post I had put up. After typing a long explaination and clicking preview it jumped back to the message board not the preview page. Can messages be too long? Has anyone else had this problem? I've replied to other messages today without any problem.

Phil

It's happened to me several times, and every time it's been because I mentioned another source of parts, used a phone number, or used some other word, name, or number that triggered it. After typing it 3 times because when I'd back up it'd be blank (not their fault, just the computer's) I made it reall short & sweet, put extra do dads between names and numbers to trip it up, etc. Works for me...

If you think timing out is the problem, type your message into your word processor or into email then cut and paste, moving it back to where you want it to be. “Put it where you want it”.

YT will do that if you violate the p0tty filter. Use the back button on your browser to step back to your message and try to guess what might be offending. Certain web sites will also "trip the filter"

Good Luck,

Nathaniel

I have had it happen numerous times. I think it "times out" and only gives you so much of a window to get it done. I think they like the messages short and sweet.

I'd guess that you just encounterd a "glitch" in the system. I've posted a few lengthy replies and never had a problem.

I have too and short ones today. Only thing different that I can figure is that I typed this reply in MS Word and copied and pasted it into my message. I tried just typing the whole thing into the message also and same result. If this one gets through then i know there's a goblin in the works.
Maybe in my old age I'm messing up somehow Maybe in my old age i'm messing up somehow Maybe in my old age I'm messing up somehow Maybe in my old age I'm messing up somehow Maybe in my old age I'm messing up somehow LOL
