I've loaded some photos of the riding ring my sister built on my farm last summer. It was contracted out and I wasn't real pleased at first but turned out ok. See my post to your question from yesterday.

Levelest land on the farm

I hope she uses it

Will it ever be done?

I guess it's done.

Could it become an asparagus patch?

Finished looking toward the barn about 100 foot away.

The state's bigest litterpan.

Anyway it was a lot of time and equipment. This took a piece out of land that I let her use for pasture in exchange for work on our vegetable farm. Turned out pretty nice but was very agravating watching the land get so torn up. One word of advice is build close to the barn, it will be used more than if it is far away.

That is a very nice looking job!!! Is the arena crowned in both directions- lengthwise and widthwise?

Thanks
Ken

Yes it is crowned both ways. When I watched it being built I could have sworn that it wasn't at all level, all sloping to the far corner but when you are standing in the middle it is level all around with the center crowned. The hillsides make everything seem out of perspective. Us people in southwest PA don't really know what level is anyway. My sister read a lot in different magazines and the contractor had built other rings so despite my misgivings I guess he knew what he was doing.

Look at this way, if she doesn't use the arena, then you sure have a nice level building site.
