I'm trying to find some information/history about a Remington 12 ga., 870 Wingmaster-Ducks Unlimited-Special Edition. Made in the mid '70's.

Anyone have information about this gun ? ... Thanks

Take your question to the auctionarms.com discussion board..lots of people there looking for limited edition versions of guns.

Let me say this....I don't claim to be an expert on anything. BUT, I have had my FFL for 20+ years and have personally owned more guns than dump truck would haul....of all brands, types, calibers/gauges and condition. While an 870's innards and how they function are all the same, people will sometimes pay up to double..that's 100%..over what a standard plain jane common version will bring. Your's probably won't command that kind of money....but expect at least 25% more.

An 870 is an 870 no matter what is engraved, stamped, or whatever on the receiver. Nothing was done different to the shotgun to make it special or better, D U markin's were just added to the receiver. There are a few collectors that collect special marked firearms, usually in mint condition, Many DU marked 870'S were made, not a rare shotgun at all. IF it's in mint condition, it might bring 5 to 10 percent more than a plain 870 in comparable condition.
