I have a 1951 Farmall super C and the hydraulics keep quitting. I have noticed that if I add more fluid it works again for a short time. I have now noticed that the excess fluid appears to be going into my engine oil. Is there a seal that I need to replace? any help would be appreciated. The snow is piling up in the driveway!

unfortunatly if the front seal of the hydro pump is leaking usually the pump is going bad but you can pull the pump fairly easy and check the condition or take it to your local dealer for advice.

There is a seal on the shaft toward the front engine cover. It will probably have worn a groove in the shaft as well as being worn out itself. The pump should be ok as long as it wasn't run dry. Some suggest repairing the shaft with a "speedy sleeve". I had mine brazed and turned back down to size and it has been ok. Good Luck
