1066 is to International as 4020 is to John Deere.

johnny's 4020 is a real good 90 hp tractor the 1066 is a good tractor in its own right. The 4020 is growing in price everyday the 1066 doesn't seem to as fast as the johnny. So it's up to you. spend the money on the green and it grows or save it on the red. My case is 108 hp. it's even less than a 1066.

Which Allis from the same era would fit here?

Probably the 190XT would fall in line with the IH 806 and John Deere 4020.

But with Allis you have to go to a 7000 to get a true independent PTO

Yeah,

But that 7000 was a way bigger tractor and wasn't even built until after the 4020's run ended.

Don't know what all the hype over the 4020 is about; think it must be 'cause "Dad had one". Just wasn't much of a tractor to my mind; just a good dependable second loader/cultivator tractor.

Now, that 5020 is another story; that guy is/was a honker! :>)

Yep, I know the 7000 is newer, that was kinda my point,Allis was a little behind the curve so to speak. I've spent a fair amount of time driving 7000s and I'd still take my 4020s any day. I can see why some of you guys like your red ones too, IH built some tremendous engines and there's enough weight there to get the job done. Be kinda boring if we all liked the same tractor.
