I'm looking a buying a Vermeer 504 Super G round baler and would like to get a operators/repair manual. I've looked at several websites and don't find it listed. Any ideas?

Also, they are asking $3500 for the baler...it looks pretty good with decent belts and been stored inside. Is this price in line?

Thanks!

HR Ditto on what everyone said. Just have your serial numbers and model number and they will send you an owner manual.
I bought a 605K last year at an auction. Called them om Monday, had manual (Operator and Parts) the next week.
I also had a question after I got manual called them and they transfered me to an engineer that a
had help develop the baler and he told me what I need to know, plus some other bits of info that was nice to know. The times I called they never have been in a rush to get me off the phone.
Sounds like a good buy on your baler. I been happy with my K one I got. Looking now to upgrade to one that has netwrap in a few years.
Good luck, I think you will be pleased with the baler

Vermeer is one of best companies you can ever deal with. If you have any comments or questions you can call them direct and you will be put in touch with someone who really knows what you are asking and wants your Vermeer equipment to work right. Sorry, I no longer have their phone #. I had a 504 Super I model I put a silage kit in. Ran it about 6 years. Excellent machine.

I"m 99% sure I am buying the baler. I talked to the man who traded it in and he says it is good to go. He just got a bigger baler. He replaced the belts on the bigger baler he bought and put those (off the larger one) on the 504. He cut and re-spliced the belts he took off the bigger baler so they are all the same length and new splices. He also replaced four bearings while it was in his shop. Last fall he said he used both balers to finish up and the 504 only had 20-25 bales since he had it in his shop. No more than I will be using the baler it should last a long time. I"ll contact Vermeer the first of the week about the manual. Thanks for the info!

Someone said the 504 Super G is the same baler as the Massey Ferguson 1440. The pictures of a 1440 look identical to me.

Hi

R John is right. At least that was my experience 10 plus years ago.

Let Vermeer know you bought this baler and the serial number and they will have a OM in your hands faster than you can say Jack Robinson. If you have a local dealer he should have the info you need.

We sold our 605C about 10 years ago and got $2000. If the one you are looking at is as you describe it should be worth $3500.

HR

If memory serves me, people posting on this site say Vermeer will send you a manual free of charge. Contact them in Pella Iowa.

John

They will. You just need to give them the model number and the serial number and you'll get it in a couple of days. I got one for a Super F that I bought last Spring. Very nice manual.

Well I bought the baler. Thanks to everyone for the input! I will call Vermeer to get the O&M manual ordered tomorrow. I can't locate the serial number. It think it should be on a plate somewhere...where should I look?
