Trying to fix up JD 730 LP, serial number 7322067. I think it might be one of the last LP's made in 1959? Can some one help answer this? Second Question, I bought a used reduction gear (right side cover) been out side and rusted inside. The inside cases are painted with a yellow looking paint of some kind. I need to repaint the one I bought before I replace it. What kind of paint did deere use inside these cases?

Your tractor was shipped on 11/09/59.There were many, many more 730 lp's built by the end of 1959.If you mean Deere's model year,I'm not sure when they went from '59 to'60.

halfcirclej, I hate to tell you this But, this is a question for the John Deere Police over on the John Deere board. Over on the LH side of the page in the Research & Info section check your Serial # in that section it is self explainitory. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

Thank you"all for your feed back. Checked the research & info page, it shows serial # 7322075 was the first serial # for a 1960 model. That would make mine # 7322067 just 7 from the last in 1959 model. That makes me wonder if mine is a 1960 model and were the last 7 produced were all LP"s. I have called and left messages at the JD collection center and there does not seem to be a place to mail a message, but they are probably busy, since I am new at this E-mail stuff who is the john deere police at the John Deere board?
