Congratulations, posters of Tractor Talk board, you've risen to the top of the septic tank of posters. When "OLD" wandered in as a friend, and mentioned his problem, you didn't miss an opportunity to kick him while he was down. This is why I tell my mother, I play piano in a house of ill repute, I don't want her to find out I post on so called farm sites, and be ashamed of me.

Im guessing most of this crap is because of me. I wasnt even the first to question his motives I just took it a step further to get a better explanation of his disability. Well I thought everyting was explained and things were good. Guess Not. I had recieved quite a few emails saying I was correct and just being run under a truck. I also got emails telling me not to leave. I only asked a straight forward question and then went O/T on the whole walmart thing.

I apologized to Old and everyone but this keeps being drug up. Again I apologize to Old and wish him the best in getting his roof taken care of.

Please drop this. Or Kim can you please delete everything to do with this so we can move on.

Thank you Steve. I am a little (maybe a whole lot) sensitive...had major heart problems and a ICD keeps me ticking. But I look good and some people might think that I take advantage--believe me, I need that short walk to Wally world. Hope everybody is friends again.

I saw reference to this issue a while ago. Fortunately, I missed it then, and haven't bothered to, nor will now, search it out. So don't know what it's all about. Don't much care.

It's near February. Time for cabin fever to set in on all the boards on the internet. Happens every year about this time, and creeps on through most of February. Some topic takes off & just gets all twisted up. everybody is waiting for spring, & have to let out some angst.

Always like Old's messages, whatever the deal is, just ignore the cabin fever stuff & on with the regular show. :)

I bet no "farmer" on here makes a "living" on the farm without government or mamma's help! Just inflate the price of land with "other" income and get in the way of real farmers trying to feed the world! gary

In all the years Old has been of great help here, he has made only one mistake----he said somthing about getting goverment help. Man! oh Man!, you'd think he kicked some one's kid. Just ignor those hard heads, thats the way they are built. Old is such a good man he stayed with us and did not run and hide. Far as I am concerned, this is over and done.

I'm leaveing the rest of what is being said alone because I want to see it dropped. But you said something and believe me I understand. I have my good days with a small amount of pain then I have my bad days and it feels like some one took a knife and stuck it in my back or shoulder or leg. Never seems to be the same place on any given day. I know a lot of the pain I get is weather related also and on cold wet days its worse then on warm sunny ones. I feel for other people like us who know what its like to have a good day then the next one its just plain hard to get out of bed.

Sorry I told you to get bundled up and fix your roof Rich. I didn't know! I'm on Crestor Medication for Cholestrol because Lipitor was making me an Invalid so I can appreciate the daily pains and difficulty of not being able to walk or lift in a normal fashion, and this is from Medication to lengthen your life , I can't magine a Physical problem causeing the same symptoms, At least I can try some thing else, Whereas you and others like you have no out but to do the best you are able. Chin up, it will get better. John

Yep my doctors say my back, shoulder and kees, both of them are all degenerative so I know as time goes by I get to look forward to getting worse not better. Oh well thats part of life and doing things years ago that if I/we had only known we would have done it differant.

Yeah, and if you did things different you might even be worse - there's no telling. I beat the heck out of myself most of my life - and I've got several discs that have been fused with surgery. One has a steel cage, another a piece of my hip bone stuck in it, etc. I've also several arrays of screws, titanium pins and plates here and there. All "degenerative disc disease" means is - the "shock absorbers" in your spine are played out - and with walking upright and gravity - it can't get better. If you started crawling on all fours - it might. I walked on crutches for half a year and my back got MUCH getter. But, once on my own two feet again - my back problems quickly returned. I always find it kind of funny though when a doctor calls it a "disease" - sounds like you caught something. The "disease" is gravity on "old parts." But - that all being said. I've met people in their late 20s, or 30s who had desk jobs and never did a hard day's work in their life - and also had bad discs and resulting surgery. Many of them even do LESS physical stuff now (if that's possible) - and I could easily outwork them on one of my good days. So - I guess it's a crap-shoot. Some people have spines (and other parts) that are just plain built heavier than other people's. I know for myself, if I sat around all day, I'd fall apart. I always feel my best when I'm out moving around and working. I must admit though, I get somewhat envious when I meet some chain-smoking, booze-drinking 80 year old that goes out and cuts firewood everyday in 10 degree weather and says he feels great. Good genes I guess - not necessarily good living.

I also think a lot has to do with what you walked on a lot. Most older people never did walk on cement much and now days you can't help but walk on it and its just plain hard on you to do so. People where made to walk on dirt not some thing that is hard then rocks

You know what I like the most about this message board? The fact that the newest topic always goes on top, pushing all of the previous topics down the page.

Therefore, every topic, no matter how interesting, boring, on-topic or off-topic, quickly moves to the bottom of the page, and then on to page 2, page 3, and so on. Its not like other forums I frequent that are just as informative, but the first couple pages are always filled with relatively useless topics that people feel the need to keep posting about.

Aww, c'mon Ron! He's just an insensitive coo-coo, who is trying to stir things up! There are some fools out there who just can't seem to get along with others, because of their self-inflated ideas of their worth! Take this tale i'm going to tell: After i got out of the service, in WW II, i took a job at the local Ford car and tractor dealer. Now, i had lost my left foot from a land mine explosion, so i had to learn how to use the forth-coming artificial foot! Any way, at the dealership, they had hired a young snot, who thought his --- didn't stink! That fool harassed me to great length about my slight limp, said nasty things about my family, ad infinitum. Called me "Gimpy!" So, one day, i said to him:"What goes around, comes around!" Some years later, after he had gotten a job in iron working, the city was dismantling a very old bridge, which was being replaced with a new one. Doing a bit of cutting on an upper girder, the fool who did the job got his leg removed, when the girders suddenly shifted! And, guess who that "Gimpy" fool was----- Oh, there was a great amount of moaning and crying, from lots of folks! Except one---guess who that was!
