Hey, I checked today and I shouldn't have doubted myself on something I knew....I was right the first time about the location of the serial number on the V engines be they 71 or 92 series. It is located, by the book, on a pad in the front, upper right corner of the block, just under the head and like I said last night should be a stamped number with a prefix for the series engine and then the actual serial number. I also checked and I have a Operators/maintenance manual for the 92 series engines. It covers the basic industrial configurations and the associated governors but I didn't see anything in it about the throttle delays, etc found on many automotive engines if yours has that. Other than that it has all the basic tune up specs and proceedures. If you've got any more questions or anything feel free to ask. Wayne
