Tylenol PM isn't bad stuff but it's really to let you sleep past pain.

Allen, my first thought, when you told about your short sleep periods and tiredness was that you might have sleep apnea. If so, one thing that might help is a CPAP machine. Telling you to see a doctor, may be like telling a hippie to get a haircut but do so anyway. Think about what a tractor your age might need. If you Goggle “sleep apnea” or check this link you may learn from it.

Allen, try Unisom. One little pill will stretch you out nice for eight straight. Take em five nights in a row, get to bed at a regular time, allow for eight hours of sleep. After the fifth night stop taking them. That gets your sleep rhythms back in whack. Works for me. Hot shower before bed adds to the effect.

Hi Brad,

Yeah, this is really turning into a problem and it's getting worse all the darned time. I just cannot sleep. Down to an hour and 15 minutes a night now and I'm tired all blessed day long.

Think I might have to go give the sawbones a visit; this just is not normal.

Old 966 is coming along nicely. Sure wish it would warm up so I could sling a little paint on that old cab. :>)

Good news is that I've got one of management's little horses all halter broke, lifting all four legs and sacked out to the max. Gonna start on that other little feller this week-end. Don't think he likes me very much tho. :>(

allan if your're haveing sleep problems get to the doc.
i had sleep apnea got so bad the company was taking me off my job i did'nt know for sure what the problem was.
had a good doctor an nurse done the sleep study nothing to it.they said over 65% of people have it today.
I now sleep with a CPAP little costly at first depending on insurance but it'll save you life.
go pardnor your worth it.don't put off to long pleace.

Allan, I'm with JT. Get yerself checked out now. If you are going on a little over an hour of sleep a night your body is gonna crash. Your thyroid could be an over-achiever. This forum won't make it without you. Jim

If you are sleeping 1-2 hours a night, the doc will say you have a mental problem. Not really but he will give you some thing related to mental medication. A close friend of mine had the same problem. Just could not shut the brain off. So medication was the answer.

...but your sleeping process is all messed up. Many factors involved, good idea on the sawbones, and don't take too many pills. No sleep can kill you after about 6 or 7 days, your body just quits. Take care!

Allan, you need to address that sleeping thing, one of my employees, 62year old man, was doing the same thing, he was sleeping 1-3 hours a night, always tired, cold not get to sleep, Monday night he was put in the hospital, today he is having open heart surgery and they are removing his thyroid. When he got to horspital, they told him that he was 10 minutes from massive heart attack. He has had the sleeping thing for about 3-4 years from what he told me.

I don't know how y'all do it, but 'round here common practice for getting very young horses started on the halter is to make them wear one with a rope on it long enough that they are constantly stepping on the end of the rope. It gets them used to having to stop when the rope pulls up short.

Dunno ol' Pard,

That's one thing I would never, ever do; leave a halter on an unattended horse. Fact is, it is all I can do to restrain myself from stopping and giving offending owners an earfull when I see it.

Seeing a dead pony hanging from a fence/fencepost is a surefire cure for that bad habit. :>(

Good to hear that the 966 is coming along nice. I know what you mean about nicer weather. got a MD I have to put back together but it is just to chilly to do so. Number one rule is to keep management happy then worry about yourself. Go get that problem about sleep taken care of We need a guy of your statue along for a long time.
