Usual road chaos.

For those that know of the motorway system in the UK south east. Over-turned lorries mainly, caused closures on M11, M1, M40 and M25. No travel over the bridge at Dartford - tunnel in use only - so havoc all round really. My Jacquie took more than 6 hours driving time to get home in Lincolnshire, from Brighton on the south coast, well under 200 miles. The A1 was the only clear route, excepting everyone was using it! Even that had an over-turned lorry to get around.

Lorry is a truck, anything over about 5 ton, smaller is a van or truck. Tractor trailer or semi is an articulated lorry or artic!
Hood=Bonnet
Firewall=Bulkhead There are loads of others, like sills on cars but I cant remember what you call them in the States.

Yes we did!and it was pretty scary at times too. I heard on the grapevine that it blew the roof off the girl's gymnasium at the school that I used to go to, so they had to close the whole school, maybe for the rest of the week.Of course, nothing like that ever happened when I was a pupil there!

 Storms in England Wales in reply to well, 01-18-2007 09:39:23
Hi Guys;
Yes we've had a dreadfull 24 hours, winds up to 95mph and serious flooding all over the British Isles.
Many major roads closed with trees blown over, and trucks blown over. Thousands of acres flooded.
Unfortunately 8 people have been killed in the storms.
Glad its blown through now. Thankfully we've not had the awful snow that some of the States have experienced.
Cheers David

David,

Hate to hear of the storms and loss of life there. Hope things will return to normal for you soon. Take care and God bless.
