I just purchased a 560 farmall with a two point fast hitch. I mainly will be using the 3 point for a bush hog mower and bale spike. I see there are several different models of aftermarket adapters and was wondering if any of you have experience with them and if so recommend one over another for useability and durability.

thanks,

robert

There are a couple of kits out there for conversion. The best I have seen is Iowa Farm Equipment. ( Link ) They have different models for different tractors. With your 560, you can use catagory 2 implements. They sell a conversion kit that will allow you to use Cat 1 or cat 2. I just bought one, will get it in the next day or so.

I`ve got 2 sets , one is shaped like a claw on the end where you can back up under the pins and raise the hitch and your hooked up . I like it the best and real easy to hook up . The problem with them is the hook part is kinda big and there`s not room for them on some equipment . The other set just has balls like on regular 3 point arms . They work fine but they have to be put on the implement then back the tractor into them . Gota prop`em up and get`em to sta there while your backin up , can be a pain . Mowers , plows etc. you`ll have plenty of room for the claw type , it`s tool bar type equipment where it gets tight .

I have an 460 that has an altered fast hitch which I use as a three point.Who ever made the change just welded some bar stock to the original arms. The bar stock has holes at the ends for the hitch pins. Then they added a pair of short turnbuckles and etc. This works OK but is just a little difficult to hitch up.The top link is a regular off the shelf link. I found one for my 560, that I was told was made by IH. It is all one piece. Sort of like an A frame. It slides in the fast hitch and has a place for the 3PT lower arms and a built in short center link. They can usually be found for $150-$200.

This sounds like the style I've used on the very limited amount of Farmall time I have had and it worked real good. Much better to hook up than a 3 pt. I patterned my JD model M hitch adapter after one of these.
