Allen, I have a Farmall 300 I am restoring, getting down to the end and want to put in some new plugs and wires in. I recall you had some issues with a certain plug brand but not sure which one. Any reccomendations?

Thanks for your help. I enjoy reading your posts

Metallic core wires to get more fire to the plug than carbon core auto wires and keeping engine as warm as needed and carb lean as you can. The Autolite 386 & 388 are resistor type plugs and shouldn't be run with magnetos but okay for battery distributor but you'll get more fire to the hole with non resistor types. Following are all non resistor plugs. Champion D18Y was originally recommended but Champion D21 & D23 are hotter. Other good ones are Denso L14-U, Autolite 3116 and AC C88 or C88L.

386 Autolite plug would be good for it.

Eugene,

I'm just not much of a "gasser" tractor guy. Just don't understand the darned old things if they aren't diesel.

I finally ended up using Champion D-21s. Couldn't keep the Auto-Lites from carbon fouling. 'Course, I subsequently ended up doing a volve job on the old heifer too, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Allan

Well, I am not Allen, but I would recommend Autolite 3116 spark plugs. They generally work the best in my farmall's.
