I bought 8 bolt front hubs and wheels for my dads 806 a couple months back. we never got around to buying tires for it cause he didn't know what size to get. The rims are 8 inches wide and I am wondering will a 7.5-16 fit good enough. The tractor has a loader on it and I do not want to blow the bead all the time. I know that he does not want to go as big as a 10.00-16 but I do not think he has a choice. Also where is a good place to find a good deal on front tires.

Well, if tread isn't an issue I have 2 10.00-16's in the shed I just took off our Massey 285 (6 bolt) and replaced with 11L-15's off our dead 1755 that was sitting in the weeds with really good front tires on it. Now it's sitting in the weeds with 2 bad truck tires instead. I'd take a trade for a pair of 11L-15's (worn doesn't matter too much), preferably on Oliver rims w/ the valve astems on the inside.

The 10.00's I've got are both 4 rib & worn but still go round. One is a Firestone and is all but bald basically making it a tri-rib. The other is a General and it's weather checked, but still has a good 1/2" of tread on them between the 2 middle ribs.

As far as a cheap place to get them, good luck, Every where I look, a pair of 10.00-16's are $105-110 new. If the bvrand matters, you could drop them off at Interstate Tire along 41 and ask for Firestone's. Our local tire store uses cheaper tires with some other brands. Fleet farm sells Carlisle and some Firestones yet, so I drop them off in Appleton after school, pick them up the next day.

I would agree with the others, 10.00-16's are the way to go. I had a 90hp. loader tractor with 4000 hours on a set of 10.00-16 4 ribs. However, I would go with 7.50-18's if you had taller rims. The taller and narrower a tire, the easier it will roll in mud or soft ground which in turn is easier on the bearings/axle. That is why 11L-15 aren't worth anything, they just slide or push in mud. "A good deal", remember the cheaper the tire the less rubber it contains. I'd get a good set of 10ply Firestone.

I agree with the others I have a 756 with a loader it has 11L-15 I wish it had 10.00X16 on it in fact someday it will. I also have a 1256 that has 11.00X16 and may put 10.00X16 back on it. I think the 10.00X16 will keep your front end up on top better with a loader especially, those 7.50 are just to narrow for a loader.

Go 10.00x16 absolutely. I have a much smaller tractor- Ford NH 3010S @ 42 PTO hp, and I put a loader on it-Woods 1020. The stock 7.50"s didnt hold up to anything! I had more tire repairs in 3 months of loader use than 7 years previous. Went with the exact rim you have Goodyear tri rib 10-16"s, and problem was over-haven"t flattened one yet moving dirt. I believe my total cost per tire was about $250 for rim, tube, and tire. I offer this because now that I have flotation on the front end the abilities of the unit are twice what they were. I can go over softer ground, and the horsepower needed to move around isn"t as much. Without good flotation on the front I"m of the opinion the front axle assembly is taking a beating, and the horsepower needed is excessive.

Why not a 10.00-16? That's what we use on our 806 and they seem to fit well with 18.4x38's and we have a loader on it with no problems at all. Unless your's has smaller rears on it they should work well. Jim
