WEATHER BULLETIN

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" ---
with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90
MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds
of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of
communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:

George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snowstorm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

No one looted.

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something..

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families. Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or
Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us
out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

It does seem that way, at least to me.

Sounds good but... If you look on a map the 48 degrees North is only about the top 150 miles of the United States.

This has been traveling the FW-FW-Fw Sites a long while now and is not a personal observation I do believe.

No one is "carping". It's a crock of heifer dust. It might be something you'd like to believe in...like the toothfairy but it's just not remotely true.

George Bush did not come.---WHAT COULD HE DO?? WHY WOULD YOU WANT HIM THERE?

FEMA did nothing.--YES THEY DID, WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS FOR ALL THE OVERTIME ALL THE VILAGES, TOWNS,ETC THAT WERE NEEDED TO CLEAR ALL THE SNOW, MOST SMALL TOWNS CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS, IT WOULD CRIPPLE THEM.

No one howled for the government.--SEE ABOVE

No one blamed the government.--GOD MADE IT SNOW, NOT THE GOVERNMENT-SO WHY BLAME THEM????

No one even uttered an expletive on TV --THAT IS ALL THE ABC, NBC AND CBS TALKED ABOUT THE LAST 2 WEEKS

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.WHAT FOR???

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.--SEE ABOVE

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.---SEE ABOVE

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snowstorm. --YEA, THEY DID

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.--WHAT FOR, A SNOW STORM IS A SHORT TERM PROBLEM, YOU CAN GET PREPEARED, AND STILL HAVE YOUR HOME TO LIVE IN!!

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.---WHY, YOU STILL HAVE YOUR HOME TO LIVE IN, YOU MIGHT BE A LITTLE INCONVIENENCED, BUT YOU STILL HAVE YOUR HOME!!

No one looted.--THIS IS A SENSLESS REAMRK

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something..--MY FRIEND, IF THE GOVERNMENT DID NOTHING, HOW DID THE ROADS GET OPEN?? DID IT ALL JUST DISSAPPEAR!!!! i THINK THE GOVERMENT DID A LOT TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE SAFE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.---SEE ABOVE

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.--SENSLESS TALK

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.--SENSELESS TALK

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.--THEN WHAT ARE YOU COMPAINING ABOUT, DO YOU WANT A PITTY PARTY??

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.--THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, YOU SAY THE ROADS WERE CLOSED, BUT SUV'S PLUCKED PEOPLE OUT OF CARS, AN SUV IS PRACTICALLY USELESS IN DEEP SNOW, THEY SIT TOO LOW

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.---AGAIN, i THOUGHT YOU SAID THE ROADS WERE CLOSED

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families. Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.---tTIS IS WHAT ANY DECENT GOD FEARING MAN WOULD HAVE DONE---HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOADED TRUCKS OF FOOD, WATER, LIVESTOCK FOOD, SUPPLIES AND SHIPPED TO LA??? A $HITLOAD

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.--WE HAVE TO DO THIS ANY TIME THE ELECTRIC GOES OUT, LIKE THE ICE STORM THAT HIT CENTRLAL IL IN NOVEMBER OR THE ONE THAT IS HITTING HERE NOW, WE HAVE 1/4" OF ICE AND MORE COMING!!! DO I WANT YOUR PITY, NO I AM PREPARED.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or
Die".---HUH, A LOT OF PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE BEEN DOING THIS ON A DAILEY BASIS FOR YEARS, THAT IS THE WAY OF LIFE WE HAVE ACCEPTED.

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us
out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.---YOU ARE JUST AN A$$ FOR THIS KIND OF COMMENT AFTER WHAT PEOPLE WENT THROUGH WITH kATRINA AND RITA!!!

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.---THIS IS YOUR CHOICE TO LIVE WHERE YOU ARE, JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE IN NEW ORLEANS, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE SNOW OR THE THINGS THAT COME WITH IT, MOVE!!!!! !!!!! !! TO A PLACE MORE TO YOUR LIKING, OTHER WISE, QUIT WHINING!!

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 48 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate.----NO COMMENT, YOU ARE JUST AS BAD AS THE PEOPLE YOU ARE PUTTING DOWN WITH THIS NONSENSE OF A POST. NORMALLY I DO NOT GET FUZZED UP, BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. YOU SOUND LIKE A POLITICIAN LOOKING A FOR VOTES OR A CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR OR SOMETHING. YES THE PEOPLE IN LA ASKED FOR HELP, THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE TRYIGN TO SCAM THEM, THEIR WHOLE WAY LIFE HAS BEEN TURNED ON ITS HEAD, I THINK IF YOU HAD BEEN IN THEIR SITUATION, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME LINES LOOKIGN FOR THE SAME HELP, YOU ARE NOT GOD

No point in getting upset...he just did a copy and paste with some modifications of existing nonsense to fit the snow situation. I'm sure he doesn't believe that garbage and if he does...he needs to get out and learn a little about geo/social/political situations. As I said...it's touchy feely stuff to make know nothing people feel better about themselves.

Even if everything in your post is true (which it isn't), the comparison between 44 inches of snowfall and Katrina's 22 foot storm surge is laughable.

An inch of water is equivalent to ten inches of snow. Write again when you get 220 feet of snow.

SO WHAT! If it had been true.... What good would Goerge do visiting. Done no good anywhere else he has gone....."no one looted" - couldn"t get out to loot, probablly too cold..... ."No one blamed the government" - why not? "bout time it woke to climate change!..... "Nope, we just melted the snow for water" - obviously enough hot air about without any more arriving..... "It does seem that way, at least to me" - yep, but"seem" is usually an unsustantiated claim without analysing the evidence or necessarily studying the problem systematically and coming to an authorative conclusion.

Finally you say "Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

If that is the case, what on earth are you carping on about!!!!

Ha! Regards, and don"t reply, RAB

Horse puckey...that came from a 2005 blizzard in N. Dakota and they indeed yell for FEMA...seehttp://www.snopes.com/katrina/soapbox/dakota.asp... Besides, the locals didn't man shovels but the National Guard and other state agencies did all the work. Without the outside aid from the states they would have died like anyone else. I get a bit tired of hearing this chest thumping bravado. Even the ranchers and farmers will collect from various insurances or capital losses which all American taxpayers will pick up. It's a nice "feel good, touchy, feeling" comment having no credibility in truth.

No one in this country is truly independant. You might be able to survive for a period of time but sooner or later, you'll need some kind of help or die.

I agree I have heard this before and the same on the news they were talking about getting aid from the Feds. You know that no governor is going let alittle thing get by that can bring in Federal money.

i think it's what you call country people . you learn at young age to take care of yourself and others and don't stand in line with your hand out waiting for someone to take care of you . when you see someone in need you do what you can to help .
