I have a 1700 ford with a 770 loader and I am renovating it. I put the laoder together and when I lower the loader it pulls the engine down. When tractor is off the loader will go down with ease. The loader goes up without pulling the engine down. What could be wrong?

Soundes to me like you somehow have a two way valve feeding a one way cyl.with no where for the oil to go other than thru the relief valve. If the valve can't be switched to one way operation then you need to put a return hose from the downside of the valve back to the sump giving the oil somewhere to go.

Does it possibly have a retarder valve to prevent sudden drops, such as form a burst hose?

My 1900 does this also but not real bad.

Never have figgered that bugger out.

But it is worse if you pull back to far on the 3 pt lever and cause it to by pass.

I'll be interested in any solution also.

Allan you got mail.

Craig,

Did you put a new control valve on it? Does it pull the engine down a lot or just "some"?

Allan
