Well that is how I did mine, and after reading all the replies below and no one confessed to doing one on there own, here goes. The axles are tagged and mine are tagged at 5500# each. About a $1000 dollars in steel including dove tail and tilt ramps, about $300 for treated lumber, I forget how much the 350, 3" tek screws cost. The reflective tape and lights prolly about $150 and a lot of time.

I"m pretty good at structural stuff and it is a very sound deck over. But I would find a good used one before I would do that again.

I agree with the others, BAD IDEA, BAD IDEA. That trailer will make a good lawnmower trailer, but not a tractor trailer. I'm thinking now, tractor being of the IH model H or M, or JD A,B, H or G. Go out and buy you a car hauler for the tractor or even buy the steel and build you a car hauler. It may seem like a lot money up front, but it will save the white knuckles and the hip pocket. Don't use a RV trailer frame for that type of trailer. Just not good judgement..
Good Luck.....

Those axles should have an aluminum tag wrapped around them giving the info/weight that their good for. I'd guess 3500 lb ea, total of 7000 lb trailer & load. The frame itself on a camper is too light, the guage of the steel to thin to be hauling tractors. You can save the axles, brakes & springs. and make a 7000 lb GW trailer, which is a good landscape trailer.

No...! The frame is to light to be hauling a ractor..... As a RV the weight is spred out over every inch of the frame....a ractor will bend the frame..... .dont do it,,,,,Don

I went thru 3 trailers before I bought a real car hualing trailer. I don't miss those days white knuckling it down the road one bit. If it's dirt cheap build up a nice trailer and sell it and get a real one. A bad trailer will give you chest pains or worse.

The only reason it has two axles is to ride smoother.

I would be surprised if they are rated much over 3500 like Caterpillar said.

And frame is probably even lighter because half of the strength in the trailer is designed into the side walls.

Might work good cut down for a lawn mower trailer.

What is the weight of the tractor you want to haul? You could easly cut the frame down to about 16' which will more than haul one tractor. Leave the axles a bit back and let your truck take some weight. Should be a build tag somewhere with the weight rating of the axles. 22' might be twin 5k or twin 3.5k axles. I'd think it would haul something smaller.

A 22' travel trailer is probably only about 3,500-4,000 pounds and it is spread out over the whole frame. I agree, sounds like a bad and possibly dangerous idea.

Bad idea. The frame and axles can't possibly be rated strong enough to make a trailer that will haul your tractor.

Hi folks. If you stay some under the tow and combined weight ratings of your tow vehicle and trailer, things go much better and no chest pains. You will have to find something else to do for excitement.
