All junk mail that passes through my fingers winds up in the cylindrical receptacle, unopened.

However, the other day a bit of junk mail came in the mail box about a special subscription offer from a magazine called "Farm Show". The outside had some interesting farming 'eye candy', so I opened it. The inside looks just as interesting. I think I'm interested, but I have never heard of this magazine before so I don't know yet.

Do any of you know anything about them? Are they worth the subscription price?

Thanks in advance.

Christopher

Subscribed for years. Just like most of the rest.

I consider it well worth the money. I haven't done to many of the ideas but is nice to think about. Actually I have a 815 ih combine that will get a treatment that I see in that magazine a lot.

Try a year and if you don't like it let it drop.

jt

Have had the paper almost from the beginning. It is a good outfit, very interesting reading, also good clean entertainment. Lots of ideas to look at, although some are pretty ridiculous.

I subscribed for many years, but over time they went from a farm innovator magazine to a city slicker one. On the phone with them one day, trying to straighten out some gift subscriptions, I mentioned some ideas I had come up with. About 18 of them. Guy told me he'd send out a throw-away camera, and wanted pix. Talking to him I knew he knew diddly squat about mechanics, so I said I'd send my own pix and text on one item. He rewrote it, made up 'quotes', etc. I demanded a retraction- which they made in the next issue. Gave me a few years extension on the subscription. Told him I could submit more ideas, but he would not agree to let me write the text without revision. Still have 17 ideas left. They have very little left of farm inventions- mostly town stuff. I don't give gift subs anymore. They have about 3 people in the office, send out cameras, and they write the story. Ever notice the common text in what people make out of SP combines- it's because one person does the writing- not the innovator. Many other mistakes with machine ID, etc., but they don't know the difference. Their archives still have some value, but recent stories don't have much.

I keep renewing my Dad's subscription because he and my brother like it. And when I'm home during vacations I usually read it on rainy days...

Worth the money? In my opinion, yes, but barely. Decent entertainment.

Farm Show Magazine is proof that Rube Goldberg is alive and well.....

Not a lot of useable information, but still entertaining.

I've been getting Farm Show for about 15 years.

Some of the gimmos in there are good some are about as useless as wings on a bear.

But I keep renewing.

They are pretty nice, but I am not sure they are worth the money. A friend passes his on to me.
If you follow the shows they are worth the money, otherwise.....
