Finally broke down, bit the bullet, yanked the exhaust and brought the old snorter inside where it's warm.

Have lots and lots of soldering to do behind the dash to make all the cab's electrical systems work and then I'm gonna double sound deaden; that is, insulate on both sides of the factory sound barrier to kill that engine noise coming up thru the cowl area.

Maybe I'm just gettin' old, but its cold outside! :>(

Sure wished my shop looked like your Allan. About all I can see is the floor. Walls and ceiling are all full.
Really crowded in there since I brought the 450D inside.
The other half got me a set of those mechanics gloves for Christmas as a stocking stuffer. I do not like gloves...but those things are really nice. Think I am gonna get a few more pair when I go by Carquest next time.

When I was a kid our log shop on the ranch was so low that Dad had to take the steering wheel off of the H to get it in under the door. Had a big old pot belly stove in there and kept me busy stoking at -20 degrees outside.

Wow, tongue and groove pine walls ..in the garage! You must be doing something right. My garage still has the 2x4's showning, wife dont seem to think the garage needs to be warm. Maybe I should disable her darn remote start and see what she starts. I tell ya Allan, you seem to stay more busy than most. I hope to have my shop cemented this spring so I can actually work on things in the winter with out getting frost bit.

Is this a picture of the way it used to be? You sure look organized for it to need a cleaning. I should post a picture of my shop for comparison. Mines a complete mess.

I don't know how you guy's and gals manage to work in the cold weather. There isn't even snow on the ground here in Calif, and there will never be where I live. It's so darn cold here in the mornings I can't get gowing until the sun has been up for a couple hours. Maybe getting old. Stan

I have an idea for you for the sound deadening. Look up some supplier who makes the stuff they line Gen set compartments in RV's. The new stuff is a kinda exploded lead feeling stuff that does a great job.

I quit freezin' my a** off this year. Finally finished the plasma building with a 2 bay insulated garage and central heat. Imagine tinkerin' anything in January in just jeans and a sweat shirt (and no ice on your coffee cup after 10 minutes).

Whew!

Thought fer a minute you was gonna call me a big weenie for wanting to work inside where the thermostat lives. :>)

Been kinda under the weather the past couple of days and my "projects" are falling behind the timeline. Maybe I can go faster without the silly mittens now. :>)

Heck, I would never insult someone because they were working smart or taking longer to do the job safely.

I've got a roof that's coming off in the next few days. Takin' it all the way down to the concrete blocks and throwing the debris in the back of a borrowed grain truck so I only have to handle it once. May even have pictures! : )

Stay warm!
