One of the 2 that drove to Washington lives in Runnels IA at 515-966-2399. He will tell they used an H Farmall and pulled a manure spredder.

I think it was in 1979 - a farmers demonstration drive to Washington D. C. to demand "parity". In other words, better prices for grain. I was just a kid, but the idea was raise grain prices more to a level with everything else that had increased in price.

I was at an auction a couple of months ago that had a JD 4020 that if you looked close, you could see red, white, & blue under the JD green.

They said it had been painted for the drive to DC and had gone all the way up and back...

I think I remember it happening one time in 1977 or 1978. It was when all the farmers tried to organize something like a union. There were meetings held all across the country, I remember going to one at the local Livestock Sale Barn.

Yup,dont remember the year.We were watching them going west from 48th and O in Lincoln NE.
Well, some yuppie in his yuppie car tried to cut in from a side st. He had to stop and a farmer with a loader pulled right up to the side of the yuppies car and threatend to tip his car over. I thought that was great sport.
