Tim,
Any burnout is a good one. Me and my buddies kept Discount tire busy about every 2 weeks buying used tires from them in the summer.

Former hardcore dragracer, switched to tractors, MUCH MUCH CHEAPER. But I still need to smell good tire smoke every so often.

Heres the only car I have left, cant part with it. 468 Chevy, full roller motor, Weiand 6-71, 16 port NOS pro fogger nitrous. 700HP and 2200lbs. It will burn the tires until you let off the pedal.

Have fun boiling the hides.
Rick

Tim,
Thanks. Took about 2 years to build, from the chassis to final paint. Every single nut and bolt etc is new.

Thats why I cant part with it.

Rick

It looks to me like you did it right - come to a stop , left foot on brake if an automatic or right heel on brake if a manual , toe on accelerator pedal , rev up , dump clutch or feather brake , smoke tires to clean off mud . That's just the way it's done ! No harm , no foul ! I don't have any sound on this broke down computer so that's why I don't know if it was an auto or manual . Nice truck by the way ! I'd rather have a '70's truck than any new one . That's why I like my '75 short box chevy 4x4 with a built engine . My wife drives the '02 2500 Dodge . Burn 'em till the tires fall off !! ...Randy

You must not be buying your own tires????

Oh, heck, I forgot, my 18-y-o DOES buy his own tires, and burns them up just like you!

He says "Dad, you know darned well you liked burnouts, and did them back in your day".

He won't believe me when I said I was never into burnouts, and I think they are about the dumbest thing a guy can do!

I wrecked a lot of tires, too, in my younger years, but at least while MOVING... 4-wheeling... knocking the beads off the rims, running rocks and obstacles into them, etc..

I give him grief about tearing up tires while standing still... saying that at least I was tearing around when I wrecked tires, NOT sitting in on place, putting them up in smoke!!!

WHATEVER "floats your boat", I guess!

I could probably do that with my f 150 with a six with wet tires too. Lets see you do that with dry tires. Then we can talk about it. Watch out for that cop that comes by every now and then. Stan

Aw heck, I've done it a crap load of times with my 88 F150- straight 6, mazda 5 speed 2wd. Dry pavement all the time. Don't even have to try to spin 'em on wet roads, they do it all by themselves... I quit doing a bunch of them after I put new brakes, axel seals and tire on the back. Still do it once in a while though, haven't done it lately...

I used to do one almost everyday during lunch right by a buddies house. I'd hold'em till you couldn't see the truck anymore, then peel out and go home for a snack... He liked the show, his dad owns a race car shop so he's seen quite a few...

I don't have to worry about the cop, becouse our town cop is a very good friend of mine, and I know the road was wet, but I thought I would give it a try anyhow.. I will do it again when the road drys ok.. fair enough?

Hey Nice, When you try it on dry pavement also try some clorox on the tires. John Schneider said thats what the did for the General Lee to make them smoke up more (season one commentary).
